Hannah gave an awesome presentation to the "Kids in Action" group at our church last night, explaining what "Missions" is (and what it is not). More specifically, she shared pictures and explained all about her mission trip to Thailand last January 2011. She spoke to about 30 kids, grades 1 - 6, and actually held their attention for about 40 minutes! I've spoken to this crowd before, and watched them other times. Never have I seen so many hands go up to answer questions, over and over again, and never have I seen the kids so captivated by a speaker. I guess it is just much more interesting for kids to hear a teenager share than one of us old stodgy grown-ups. Besides, I learned something about MY "Kid in Action" last night ~ she is a gifted public speaker/presenter. Truly, she had sized up her audience and make a presentation that was both informative and also understandable on even a first grade level. I was one proud mom.
This young man had answers to almost every question....a smart guy!
Here are the remaining kids after her talk -- about half of them had already been picked up by parents before we realized we should get a picture for the Kids in Action newsletter. You can tell they had a good time!
This little guy came up to Hannah and told her that he is going on a mission trip this summer to Guatemala. He was so sweet!
