URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!

PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL, BROOKLYN, AND FOR HER ENTIRE FAMILY, THE ORRANGES FROM COLORADO, WHO ARE NOW SERVING IN SIERRA LEONE, WEST AFRICA.  WHEN YOU PRAY, would you please email/facebook us and let us know?  I will pass along the names of all who prayed to the Orranges, to let them know and encourage them that God's children everywhere are lifting their whole family up to our loving, healing Heavenly Father! 

Dear praying friends,

I am writing to ask you if you could PLEASE somehow get this urgent prayer request out to as many different churches' Sunday School classes as possible this morning, and if your pastors could possibly lift this family up in prayer in your worship services today.  If you don't get this email until after church Sunday, please pray for this family yourself, and please ask as many people as you know, and as many prayer groups as you know, to pray.  I know so many prayer requests come your way for people you don't know -- we cannot pray for everyone and everything -- but, every child of God is precious.  We happen to KNOW this particular child of God, and we love her.  We are praying, and we humbly ask you, even though you do not know her, to please sacrifice some time and pray for  her and her sweet family.

We met the Orrange family (www.fighttrafficking.org) at the Mission Training Institute we attended in Colorado before we left.  They are a family from Colorado who moved to Sierre Leone just a few weeks ago.  We became very close with their whole family at Mission Training.  They are the sweetest people!  Almost immediately after arriving in Sierra Leone, West Africa, their 8 year old daughter, Brooklyn, became sick.  They had only been there about a week when this happened.  Soon, she was taken to a hospital and they discovered she had Typhoid and a bad urinary tract infection.  The UTI spread to her kidneys and now her kidneys are shutting down.  She was flown to Ghana (they barely got on a full flight), where she has had a blood transfusion and been put on dialysis.  I think she may have had two blood transfusions by now.  Not sure.  Anyway, she had more complications – she is in critical condition.  They are now trying to fly her to a hospital in London.  She is a very, very sick little girl.

People are praying for her all over the world.  She needs more prayer.  We need God to intervene.  She is in much danger.

Could you please print out this sweet picture of little Brooklyn and ask the entire church to pray for our friends?

Update from the Orranges’ pastor in Colorado: brent & brooklyn got on their commercial Flight to ghana. They should be there...which won't be easy. They have to get through a crazy international airport with a very sick girl that cries in pain as she walks.....to a hospital that we are hoping can help us. All of this while her kidneys are shutting down. Please pray god's wisdom and peace for brent as he has a lot on his shoulders right now. And pray my little girl makes it. We really really need massive healing.

Update from Trailhead Church Pastor: I just got off the phone with Courtney, who is awaiting word from Brent. He and Brooklyn should already be in Accra, Ghana, where they will need to get to the hospital with no money and no phone. God has already worked two miracles – through a connection with the US Embassy in Sierra Leone – in getting a helicopter ride to the airport and getting a second seat on a full flight. Let’s pray for some more: that Brooklyn’s kidneys will hold out, that the person who is supposed to meet Brent in customs will be there (and be helpful), that God would give wisdom and strength for Brent, and that God would sustain Courtney and Sam in this excruciating time of waiting.

(Tim just updated me:  IF Tim correctly understood a message he read, evidently their pastor is flying to London now to be with their family.  Please pray the Orranges make it to London and their pastor does, too.)

From Brooklyn’s Mom:  Here's something you can DO! If you know anyone in London that would be up for coming to the hospital and giving brooklyn encouragement.. .a card, a picture a kid colors, stuff animals, ANYTHING.. that would be awesome! She will be at Portland Hospital and she won't get there until late Sunday night their time. I don't know how long she'll be there but they could call first and make sure Brooklyn Orrange is still a patient there. If anyone can help lift her spirits and show her how many people are praying, that would be awesome!!!

Another update from Brooklyn’s mom, Courtney Doherty Orrange: "There was a complication with Brooklyn's arm earlier this morning (I do not know the details) but they took her to another hospital just now to do a scan to see if she has a blood clot because her arm is extremely swollen and continues to swell. PLEASE pray. She has had so many complications and is continuing to have serious problems. This issue in her arm is serious. I will send more info when I know it."

From a friend:  Asking for prayers for some precious friends who need us to storm Heaven's gates on behalf of their sweet 8 year old daughter Brooklyn!! Last month, they sold their belongings and left Littleton for Sierra Leone, West Africa to minister to those rescued from sex-trafficking. But soon after they arrived, Brooklyn came down with Typhoid Fever and is a very sick little girl. She and her dad Brent (who is a nurse) had to fly in Ghana to a better hospital, but they still need to fly to London tomorrow to get her the help she needs. She's in renal failure and has needed a blood transfusion, kidney dialysis and a long incision in her arm due to swelling/fluid. Her mom, Courtney, and 7 year old brother Sam hope to join them in London tomorrow. Please join us in praying for wisdom/guidance for the doctors/nurses in the days to come and for peace/comfort for this sweet family who are devoting their lives to HELP OTHERS! I will post their website below if anyone feels led to donate to their ministry...they will no doubt need help with these unexpected medical bills. Please Lord...HEAL BROOKLYN!!

From another friend:  Friends, please pray for my friends Brent & Courtney Orrange. They moved with their children to Sierra Leone to be missionaries, to help fight sex trafficking. They have only been there a couple weeks and their 8 yr old daughter Brooklyn now has Typhoid Fever. Brent took her to Ghana to seek better medical care but Brooklyn is not doing well. okay we've got some things working.... Kelly Gajewski and Amanda Purvis, your people rock! Just keep praying: 1. That she gets the blood transfusion that she needs. She is extremely anemic and needing more blood. 2. That she is stable enough to leave for London in the morning. If she isn't stable enough they will leave as soon as they can.

I know it's too many updates but things are changing constantly: All ICU beds are full. She is staying at Lister and they are going to retry the blood transfusion. Pray.

Update: they made it to ghana and are getting treatment. She is still feeling crummy and struggling. They did dialysis and are doing a blood transfusion. Should leave for london tomorrow. Please keep praying for her. She is miserable and brent is exhausted.
