Church Visits, part 2

I'd like to show another wonderful church in our area to you in this post.
The way the churches work here is a little different from the USA.  Each area has a central church, almost like the county seat church.  And that big church has about six, give or take, smaller churches that have branched off of it.  Once a month, all the churches get together at the BIG church for a group worship service with the presiding pastor.

Shaunie, not quite sure about it all!
That one pastor actually presides over ALL the churches, and rotates from one to the other, week to week.  A tough job!
I love the way mamas carry their babies here.
When the pastor isn't there, lay pastors run the services.  So about every six weeks, the pastor visits each church once.  And once a month, he leads the BIG service for all the little churches put together.

The man below is one of the lay preachers for this congregation.  We visited Kagano church on one of those BIG Sundays.

Even after church, they just can't stop dancing!
Kagano is another Methodist church located way high on top of another mountain.  They call them "hills" here, but this Texas girl definitely considers them mountains!

The handsomest little 5 year old there!

One of the choirs (the ladies in red) surrounded the congregation as they sang.  It was beautiful!

The view from the church is amazing.I loved standing up there, looking over the green hills, and at the fluffy white clouds and bright blue sky, and then gazing over across the shimmering lake.  The only word to describe the view is Paradise.  Pure Paradise.

A beautiful grandma.

That this beautiful view, on a micro-level, uncovers many, many hungry and fatherless children, many desperate parents, many child-less elderly with no one to care for them, is a paradox unlike any other I've known.

We arrived at Kagano church one Sunday morning after about a one hour trip.  We visited with Chrisie, Shaun and Jack - our Texas friends and visitors.  What a vibrant and true worship service this turned out to be, and of course, how full our tummies felt afterwards, as they fed us and fed us and fed us all the delicious beans, rice, meat, potatoes, french fries and other delightful foods they had lovingly prepared for us all!
