We get to enjoy pictures of our children.......why can't the mothers of Rwanda have this same privilege?

Various friends have donated money to enable my photography addiction - er, ministry, to the moms who bring their children to Kibogora Hospital.

Since being here, I had the idea to turn my love for picture taking into a way to bless the patients of Kibogora Hospital.  I try to get at least one good picture of every mother and child who comes to the hospital, and then give the mama a print of that picture.  For the record, I've fallen WAY short of this goal.  So many moms and babies/children come through the hospital and then leave, without ever getting their picture made and/or printed.  But it is still a goal I'm working towards while I'm here.

Thank you to all who have donated funds to help with this ministry.  Since it is just pictures, it does seem like a stretch to call this project a ministry!  Maybe I will just call it a project.  J

All I know is, whenever I give a picture to a mom, even the ones I don't think are very good, I see the hugest grin on her face and receive so much more than I give.  These moms act as though I gave them a stinkin' HOUSE!  While I have over 20,000 pictures of my children on a hard drive (seriously, I really do -- kind of embarrassing to admit!), the picture I hand most or all of these women is the ONLY one they have of their children.

The ONLY one.

I know food and medical care are way more important than a piece of paper with an image on it, but I do love being able to give the moms the little luxury of one 4" X 6" picture.

One picture of the one person in the whole world whom they love more than anything or anyone else on the planet, except their spouse.

A snapshot of time that they can hold onto as time goes by.

I am so grateful I can share this with these precious women. Thank YOU for making it possible for me!

Below are a few of my Mommy&Me pictures from the last few days......aren't they beautiful?

Isn't this little girl an angel?

This is one of our wealthier patients.  She probably did have some pictures already - but isn't this cute?

This is more just a top of the head shot.....baby was sleeping!

I love this one.
